In older times when families moved onto the homestead-next-door, farming families would bring a welcome gift to the new household. Usually, the basket contained food and other helpful devices. The new folks felt welcomed! They met new friends and learned about their unfamiliar community. Our Welcome Baskets do the same for our modern inhabitants.
